JULIA DARLING RECEIVED HER MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SOCIAL WORK (M.S.S.W) FROM NEW YORK'S COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, AND IS CURRENTLY ON THE NZAP PATHWAY FOR ACCREDITATION IN NEW ZEALAND.
UPON HER RETURN FROM THE U.S., SHE PRACTICED PRIVATE PSYCHOTHERAPY IN AUCKLAND FOR 3 YEARS BEFORE SETTLING IN NEW PLYMOUTH - THE CITY SHE WAS BORN AND RAISED IN. DURING THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN, JULIA TOOK HER SESSIONS ONLINE AND DISCOVERED CLIENTS MAY PREFER THIS MODE OVER FACE-TO-FACE. FOR THIS REASON, SHE OFFERS SESSIONS TO CLIENTS ANYWHERE IN NZ (VIA ZOOM, FACETIME, OR SKYPE) IN ADDITION TO IN-OFFICE MEETINGS IN NEW PLYMOUTH.
JULIA HAS DEDICATED THE LAST DECADE TO STUDYING AND APPLYING THE MODALITIES OF ADVANCED CLINICAL PRACTICE. HER EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CLIENTS FROM ALL CULTURES AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS HAS TAUGHT HER EMPATHY AND COMPASSION - QUALITIES SHE LEADS EVERY SESSION WITH. JULIA BELIEVES THAT OUR HEALTH - BE IT PHYSICAL OR MENTAL - DESERVES OUR DEEPEST ATTENTION.
